My travels are often back in time to the 1800s where I get to meet some of the most interesting characters. As a break from Covid-exile in 2020 I attended Shearer’s Artist Ride on their ranch near Wall, South Dakota, where I had a chance to share stories with Quackgrass Sally, Dennis Polack and James DeLuca. They live modern lives, but occasionally return to an earlier era.
